Summary:
The Part-Time Innkeeper serves as the primary host for Bluff View Inn during scheduled shifts, delivering exceptional guest experiences while overseeing the daily operation of the Inn. This position is responsible for guest services, reservations, property oversight, safety and security, and ensuring the Inn is clean, welcoming, and operating efficiently. The Innkeeper exercises sound judgment, works independently, and serves as the primary point of contact for guests, emergencies, and operational issues during assigned shifts.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Provides exceptional hospitality by warmly welcoming guests and creating a memorable lodging experience from arrival through departure
Completes guest check-ins and check-outs accurately and efficiently while maintaining guest confidentiality
Responds promptly and professionally to guest questions, requests, concerns, and complaints, resolving issues whenever possible
Manages reservations, guest communications, and room assignments using the Inn's reservation system
Coordinates with housekeeping to ensure guest rooms and common areas meet Bluff View Inn cleanliness and presentation standards
Inspects guest rooms and public areas for cleanliness, maintenance needs, safety concerns, and overall guest readiness
Assists with breakfast service by preparing the dining area, monitoring food presentation, replenishing items, and providing outstanding guest service
Monitors and replenishes guest amenities, office supplies, beverages, and operational inventory as needed
Maintains accurate guest records, daily reports, and shift documentation
Communicates important guest information and operational updates to management and other Inn staff
Conducts routine inspections of the property to identify maintenance, housekeeping, or safety concerns and reports issues promptly
Performs scheduled security rounds, secures buildings and common areas, and serves as the first point of contact for emergencies or facility-related issues during assigned shifts
Responds appropriately to guest emergencies, fire alarms, severe weather, utility outages, or other unexpected situations while following Bluff View Art District emergency procedures
Provides guests with information regarding Bluff View Art District restaurants, galleries, gardens, event venues, and local attractions
Maintains a clean, organized, professional front desk and lobby environment
Works a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, holidays, and additional shifts as operational needs require
Performs other duties as assigned in support of Bluff View Inn and Bluff View Art District operations

Education and/or Experience
Required
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Minimum of one (2) years of customer service, hospitality, hotel, or lodging experience
· Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
· Strong customer service skills with a professional, welcoming demeanor
· Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple responsibilities, and exercise sound judgment in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
· One to two (1–2) years of hotel, bed-and-breakfast, or hospitality experience
· Associate degree (or higher) in Hospitality Management or a related field
· Experience using hotel reservation or property management software
· Tennessee ABC Server Permit
Language Skills
Professional and accurate verbal and written communication with guests, vendors, and team members
Mathematical Skills
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations related to guest charges, cash handling, payments, and daily reconciliations
Reasoning Ability
Strong analytical, decision-making, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure
Certificates, Licenses, or Certifications
Preferred
· Tennessee ABC Server Permit
· CPR and First Aid Certification

Compensation & Benefits:
Starting pay rate of $16.00/hour
This part-time position is not eligible for company medical, dental, vision, or retirement benefits

Flexible schedule based on operational needs and as determined by the Hospitality Director
Required availability on weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed to support Inn operations
Pay: Up to $16.00 per hour
