Job Description: Billing Clerk

Position Summary

The Billing Clerk is responsible for preparing, processing, and monitoring invoices to ensure accurate and timely billing. This role supports the finance department by maintaining billing records, resolving discrepancies, and assisting with accounts receivable functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate and send invoices to customers in a timely manner
• Verify billing data and ensure accuracy of charges, pricing, and terms
• Maintain billing records, documentation, and account history
• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies or customer inquiries
• Process adjustments, credits, and refunds as needed
• Collaborate with internal departments to confirm billing details
• Monitor accounts for delayed payments and assist with follow-up communication
• Prepare reports on billing activity, outstanding balances, and revenue tracking
• Ensure compliance with company policies and financial procedures
• Assist with month-end closing tasks related to billing and accounts receivable

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
• 1–3 years of experience in billing, accounting, or administrative roles
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and billing procedures
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting or billing software

Salary Range
