Responsibilities
- Utilize RF scanners and warehouse management systems to accurately pick customer orders according to specifications.
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and crane systems to load, unload, and move materials safely within the warehouse.
- Perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and load & unload activities while adhering to OSHA safety standards.
- Ensure proper shipping & receiving procedures are followed, including verifying shipments and maintaining accurate records.
- Assist in the organization of warehouse space using pallet jacks and other heavy equipment to optimize storage efficiency.
- Support warehouse supervision by following safety protocols and mechanical knowledge for equipment operation.
- Participate in inventory counts, quality checks, and materials handling processes to ensure order accuracy and product integrity.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in warehouse distribution or related fields such as construction or materials handling is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to operate heavy equipment including forklifts, clamp trucks, cranes, and pallet jacks; certification preferred.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and shipping & receiving procedures.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to manual handling, heavy lifting, and equipment operation.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical issues on equipment.
- Warehouse supervisor experience or leadership skills are a plus but not required.
- Ability to perform physical tasks involving manual handling and heavy lifting throughout shifts in a fast-paced environment.
