Job Title: Maintenance Technician II (CNC Mechanic)

Training Period: 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM (for the first few months)
Permanent Shift: Swing Shift — 4:30 PM – 1:00 AM
Important: This role will permanently transition to the swing shift. Candidates must be fully comfortable working the swing schedule long-term.
Pay
Agency Period: $30.00 – $34.00 per hour
Upon Conversion: Salary Revision (Pay Increase)
Shift Differential: 10% for all swing shift hours
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician II (Electromechanical) to support CNC production equipment and facility systems in a high-precision manufacturing environment. This role focuses on advanced troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, equipment optimization, and cross-functional support to maintain high equipment uptime and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
CNC & Production Equipment
- Maintain, troubleshoot, inspect, and repair CNC mills and lathes (3- to 5-axis machines such as Mitsubishi, Mori-Seiki, Okuma).
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, servo/drive, spindle, turret, and alignment issues.
- Perform and help lead preventive maintenance programs including lubrication, leveling, and spindle run-out checks.
- Assist with machine installations, relocations, rebuilds, and upgrades alongside engineering and production teams.
Facility & Electromechanical Systems
- Maintain and repair facility systems including electrical wiring, PLC inputs/outputs, motor starters, panel wiring, plumbing, cranes, pumps, compressed air systems, and conveyors.
- Safely operate forklifts, boom lifts, and scissor lifts to support equipment moves and rigging.
- Support machine health monitoring and equipment capability improvements.
Continuous Improvement & Safety
- Lead root-cause analysis for recurring equipment issues and implement corrective actions.
- Partner with production, quality, and engineering teams on process improvements and cost reduction initiatives.
- Enforce lockout/tagout, machine guarding, fall protection, and aerial lift safety.
- Maintain organized work areas and accurate spare parts inventory.
- Mentor junior maintenance technicians as needed.
Qualifications
Experience
- 5–7 years of hands-on maintenance experience in aerospace, defense, or machine shop environments.
- Strong background supporting CNC mills and lathes.
- 5 years of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting experience.
- Proven ability to independently diagnose complex equipment failures.
Technical Knowledge
- CNC diagnostics and repair (mechanical and electrical).
- Working knowledge of facility systems (electrical, plumbing, cranes, pumps, compressed air).
- Forklift and aerial lift experience or willingness to become certified.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Technical certificate or AA in Electronics/CNC repair preferred.
Requirements
- Pre-employment drug test required.
- Background check required prior to start.
- Must be able to work overtime, weekends, and emergency call-ins as needed.
- Must be willing to permanently work swing shift.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work at heights using lifts.
- Must be able to work safely in a production environment with required PPE.
