Most importantly, you approach every day with compassion, integrity, and a smile, because you understand that the little things make a big difference in a child’s dental experience.Other qualifications include:Current, Washington State Dental Assisting License 1 years’ experience in a Dental Assisting role OR successful completion of a dental assisting program with externship Experience working with children, preferredExcellent communication skills to work effectively with patients, parents, and clinic staffExperience in Dental and/or Orthodontic Assisting Current State of Washington Dental Assistant RegistrationExperience working with children, preferredHealthcare BLS and WISHA trainings, preferredAbility to pass a pre-employment professional references check What You’ll Do: As a dental pediatric assistant you will work chairside the doctor to promote good dental and general health through education and patient interaction.A typical day will consist of:Prepare patient for dental hygiene by welcoming, soothing, seating and draping patient.Answer questions and provide parents, or guardians with information about patients’ oral health, treatment, and hygieneCommunicate and work alongside dental staff to provide the patient with high level of careCompleting and reviewing patient’s chart notesExamine patients’ mouth for oral health, OHI, and provide any combination of the following treatments as instructed and approved by the dentist:Perform visual examsPerform ProphiesPerform 4-6 handed dentistryAssist all dental preventative and restorative proceduresTake x-rays and intraoral photosApply sealantsArrest dental decay by applying fluorides and other cavity-preventing agentsMix filling compoundsTake impressions of teeth A Kids Place Dentistry for Children is an equal opportunity employer.
