Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks with a valid CDL A license to transport goods across various routes, including over-the-road (OTR) assignments.
- Safely navigate and adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during daily operations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure proper functioning and safety standards are met.
- Manage delivery schedules efficiently, ensuring timely pick-up and drop-off of cargo.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and vehicle maintenance reports.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate routes and resolve any issues that arise during transit.
- Follow all safety protocols to ensure personal safety and the safety of others on the road.
- Comply with federal, state, and local transportation regulations at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, particularly over-the-road (OTR) routes preferred.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and best practices for long-distance driving.
- Ability to operate large commercial vehicles safely and efficiently for extended periods.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Physical ability to perform vehicle inspections and handle cargo as needed.
- Flexibility to travel long distances and work varying schedules as required by OTR routes.
