Material Handler/Technician Trainee
3rd Shift-10:45p-7:15a
Some of the responsibilities/duties as a Material Handler
Safety is number 1 at HQC
Quality is number 2 at HQC
Some Mechanical experience is helpful
Advancement opportunities may be possible for the right person with the correct skills, and very good attendance. Become a Technician, Assistant Supervisor, to Supervisor
You will need to be able to work weekends
1. Mix Material and keep machines full of material so they don’t run out
2. Keep the warehouse and your work area neat and clean
3. Supply the operators with boxes and bags
4. Learn and/or be certified to drive the fork lift
5. Take full pallets of product out of production to the shrink wrap machine and shrink
wrap it and then put it where it goes in the warehouse with the fork lift
6. Relieve the operators for breaks and lunches (You will learn to watch the product
come off the machines, check the parts for defects or contamination, and then
pack the product into boxes.
7. Take apart grinders, hoppers and dryers, detail clean them and put them back
together so they are ready for the next job.
8. Empty grinders when they get to ½ full
9. Take out garbage
10. Control the excess cardboard
11. May have to grind parts
12. May have to run a machine for the day if they are short handed
13. May have to help make boxes
14. May have to help with inventory
15. Vacuum filters
Many of these things listed you will work with the item, read a booklet on that item, possibly watch a video on that item and then take a test on that item, which you need to pass to be certified. These responsibilities, you may have a general knowledge of how to do them but won’t be very good or fast at doing them. They may take about 1 year or so to learn them well and be able to execute them quickly and efficiently

This is a very physical job and can be fast paced.
