What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at HPSX Logistics LLC?
Senior Accountant — Multi-Entity Logistics Group
Keep the books clean and the numbers reliable for a growing logistics group.
HPSX Logistics LLC is the parent company of a portfolio that includes seven logistics and transportation businesses and an automotive repair shop. Our books are in QuickBooks and our operations are strong — we need an experienced accountant who can keep the books accurate, organized, and ready across the whole portfolio.
This is more than basic data entry — we want someone who can close the books independently, put together financial statements we can rely on, and handle day-to-day accounts payable and cost tracking without a lot of hand-holding. It's a well-defined, steady role, not an executive position, and it's a great fit for someone who knows accounting fundamentals well and wants to own a clear piece of the business.
What you'll do
- Maintain accurate, reconciled books in QuickBooks across all nine entities (seven operating companies plus the automotive repair shop)
- Prepare monthly financial statements — P&Ls and balance sheets — by entity
- Process accounts payable and oversee accounts receivable across the portfolio
- Pull and organize cost reports across categories (fuel, maintenance, insurance, and more) to track spending by entity
- Track expenses and budgets for company contracts and flag anything running over
- Handle month-end close, journal entries, accruals, and general ledger upkeep
- Keep records tidy, categorized, and audit-ready
- Deliver organized, ready-to-use financial reports to ownership on a consistent schedule
- Coordinate with our outside CPA/tax preparer around tax filings and audits
What you bring
- 2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience beyond entry-level; multi-entity experience a plus
- Solid grasp of accounting fundamentals — reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and general ledger upkeep
- Strong hands-on QuickBooks experience (QuickBooks Online a plus)
- Working knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Comfort managing multiple entities and a steady volume of transactions
- Ability to pull and make sense of cost and expense reports
- Sharp attention to detail and reliable follow-through on deadlines
- Bonus: experience in logistics, transportation, trucking, or another multi-entity environment
Why this role
- A clearly defined role with steady, predictable rhythm
- Work directly with ownership and leadership
- A growing company with a long runway ahead
- A direct, no-bureaucracy culture where good work gets noticed
