What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Assistant position at HPP Food Services?
HPP Food Services is a leading food and beverage manufacturing company located in southern California. The company has an amazing opportunity for a QA Assistant in the Wilmington area whose primary role is to assist the QA Manager in all aspects of the Food Safety and Quality management program which consists of coordinating the Quality Assurance functions within the established legal guidelines and internal standards to ensure the production of the highest quality.
General Duties and Responsibilities
1. Have regular and timely attendance.
2. Assist the QA Manager in maintaining full compliance with the SQF standard and implementation and enforcement of the food safety program.
3. Assist in the development and maintenance of documentation, including standard operating procedures, work instructions, and quality control records.
4. Assist in developing specifications, carrying out sampling and retain sample process, verifying products meet specification and assist in managing products placed on hold.
5. Assist in monitoring, verification, and validation activities to ensure that all products leaving the facility meet Food Safety and Quality standards.
6. Assist in the preparation for all audits conducted by internal or external personnel.
7. Conduct training on changes to quality systems, procedures, and testing requirements and maintain up-to-date training records for department.
8. Communicate quality concerns or food safety issues to QA manager with urgency and take the initiative to help resolve issues and bring them to compliance.
9. Identify and report any equipment, production, safety and employee issues to the manager each day.
10. Maintain a clean and safe work area.
11. Comply and enforce all company policies, safety programs, and GMP’s of the company to ensure food safety.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.
Pay: $21.50 - $23.50 per hour

Experience:
- food manufacturing: 2 years (Required)
- HACCP: 1 year (Required)
- PCQI: 1 year (Required)
