HPA is seeking a Job Captain with a strong architectural background and solid AutoCAD proficiency (Revit is a plus) to join our Irvine team. This role focuses on the coordination and production of construction documents for industrial developments, with an emphasis on consultant coordination, building code compliance, and project delivery.
We're looking for someone who can manage multiple active projects, coordinate multidisciplinary consultants, develop high-quality construction documents, and support projects through entitlement, permitting, and construction under the direction of a Project Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and coordinate construction documents, including site plans, building layouts, and architectural details, while coordinating with structural, civil, landscape, and MEP consultants throughout the design process.
- Perform zoning and building code research and apply development standards to project designs.
- Prepare and manage drawing sets using AutoCAD daily.
- Assist with entitlement, permit, and agency submittals.
- Review consultant drawings and coordinate revisions throughout design and construction documentation.
- Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, city agencies, and internal team members.
- Manage multiple active projects while maintaining quality and meeting project schedules.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's or master's degree in architecture is required.
- 5–10 years of experience with commercial or industrial projects.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, city agencies, and internal team members.
- Experience preparing and coordinating construction documents.
- Experience with tilt-up construction preferred.
- Strong understanding of building codes, site planning, and consultant coordination.
- Comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong AutoCAD proficiency required; daily use expected.
- Revit proficiency is a plus, along with SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and related tools.
