Vice President/GM, Retail Technology and Incubation
Description -
We are seeking a seasoned and dynamic Vice President of Retail & Incubation to serve as the General Manager for our global Retail Industry Solutions (Point of Sale and Incubation of new business). This executive will have full P&L accountability for our portfolio of Point of Sale and related enterprise solutions, leading all cross-functional teams from R&D (hardware, software, cloud, and AI) to global sales, marketing, and supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
P&L Management: Directly manage and grow a large global business, with full ownership of P&L and strategic direction.
Business Incubation: Drive the full lifecycle from new product incubation to scaled, global market launches.
Global Leadership: Lead and inspire a large, distributed workforce of over 500 employees across multiple regions (Americas, EMEA, APJ).
Strategic Growth: Develop and execute strategies to expand market share through both direct and indirect sales channels, leveraging account-based marketing to accelerate growth.
Technology & Innovation: Oversee the development of our mission-critical hardware, embedded systems, enterprise SaaS/cloud, and AI/ML solutions.
Enterprise Vision & Strategy: Define and continuously evolve a multi-year vision and business strategy for enterprise retail, including product roadmap, go-to-market models, and financial outcomes. Balance near-term execution with long-term value creation.
Financial Acumen & Capital Allocation: Lead investment planning, portfolio prioritization, and financial modeling to optimize trade-offs, drive efficiency, and deliver sustainable growth.
Ecosystem & Partnerships Leadership: Build and scale global partner ecosystems (ISVs, tier-1 technology alliances, and channel partners) that expand revenue and unlock new customer opportunities.
Customer & Market Leadership: Serve as the face of the business with enterprise customers, industry forums, analysts, and partners. Evangelize solutions, shape product and industry dialogue, and ensure scalable value delivery for large multi-national accounts.
Operational Excellence: Drive rigorous annual and quarterly planning to achieve growth, profitability, and efficiency targets. Ensure execution across product, sales, marketing, and customer success.
Talent & Organization Development: Build and inspire a high-performing global organization through mentorship, cross-regional leadership (Americas, EMEA, APJ), and succession development.
Executive Presence & Influence: Represent the company credibly with C-suite customers, regulators, media, analysts, and internal leadership forums. Align global stakeholders and influence both product and sales outcomes.
Required Experience
General Management: 15+ years of enterprise B2B leadership with global P&L accountability; track record managing $500M+ businesses and organizations of 500+ employees.
Retail Industry Expertise: Deep experience delivering mission-critical hardware, software, and cloud solutions to enterprise retail (tier-1 / multi-national chains). Consumer-only experience does not qualify.
Technology Leadership: End-to-end ownership across hardware, embedded systems, enterprise SaaS/cloud, and applied AI/ML. Success in both incubation and scaled global launches.
Sales & Marketing: Proven ability to build and scale direct and indirect global sales organizations, leveraging account-based marketing for rapid enterprise growth.
Global Team Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead distributed, cross-functional teams across multiple regions and disciplines.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior CEO or founder experience scaling a B2B enterprise retail technology company.
Experience in regulatory/compliance-heavy industries (payments, PCI, data security, supply chain).
Proven business model innovation (e.g., transitioning hardware to SaaS/services).
Experience leading turnarounds or scaling from incubation to $100M+ revenue.
Multi-industry exposure (retail plus hospitality, QSR, convenience/forecourt).
Recognized thought leadership in retail technology transformation (panels, analyst relations, publications).
