Job Description
The Commercial Business is a dynamic, fast-paced, multi-billion-dollar Business Unit that delivers Notebooks, Desktops, Thin Clients, All-in-Ones, Dockings and Display solutions to our Enterprise and SMB customers. The Quality Director will lead a critical function responsible to drive E2E Quality through the Product Life Cycle (PLC) from incubation to sustaining phase, ensuring that all programs are launched achieving or exceeding targets on quality performance and customer experience. The role is responsible on the continuous improvement process in Sustaining phase and to bring the learnings to the new generations on architectural phase (Voice of the Customer).
The position is responsible of the Quality 3.0 initiative development and deployment, achieving the ambitious goals between 2025 and 2028. The leader of this team will be responsible for linking the Quality teams with each of the main Commercial GBU functions (System Management, R&D, Planning, Marketing, etc) and to gain strategic alignment on PLC activities. This role will work closely with the CS functions on the service delivery models and quality improvement initiatives, and with the rest of the Quality functions (Factory QPMs, Telemetry team).
Key responsibilities
Lead the Commercial QPM team, responsible of the NPI Product Quality along the PLC process from incubation phase to sustaining phase achieving the quality goals at Intro and ensuring gen-to-gen improvement on the key metrics (AIR, NPS, etc)
Detailed Quality Plan for each NPI, collaborating closely with the Validation Teams / ODMs in the SVTP plan review and execution.
Define the validation plan for NUDs beyond the basic SVTP plan, looking for reliability to life, robustness, FMEA adoption, risk mitigation. Raise the flag on any quality risk / gap as required to preserve the customer experience.
Drive the Early Warning phase during Intro + 6/8 months to ensure that the field feedback is captured and resolved
Lead the Quality Engineering team, responsible to drive in new technologies / methodologies to structurally improve the quality experience – from reliability to diagnosability to circularity. Define best practices / processes to adopt those methodologies within the PS organization.
Lead the team responsible of the Executive Readiness process, key Marketing / GBU / NPI Events unit readiness, EEP/Beta units, and in all cases manage close the loop feedback with the QPM team and R&D for better and faster triage of system integration issues (HW, docks, displays, accessories, HP IT AEM image..,). Manage inventory and distribution of all UIRs for BPS (Marketing, QPM, FT&E), support key customer events (focus on AI initiatives)
Lead the Quality 3.0 pan-PS initiative to structurally improve the customer experience on Quality, embracing the ambitious targets on AIR, NPS and process improvement through 2025 to 2027, through the main pillars of Reliability, Risk Management, E2E Solutions Validation and Operational Processes. Define outcomes (short term and long term), define and implement metrics to track it, benchmark within the industry and externally, define culture and behavior transformation activities. Work across PS functions and businesses to deliver those outcomes.
Drive the team transformation to agile process, data-driven decisions, automation and digitization of processes towards a “modern Quality” vision.
Ensure adoption of the Customer Experience & Metrics within the PLC. Advocate for customer validation processes (internal and external) joining efforts with Marketing function.
As People Manager, define the talent / roles required for the function to drive the Quality Transformation. Assign performance objectives, track execution and manage end of year review process. Take actions to beat goal of 80% on Employee Engagement Index, define and execute solid improvement plans based on VIA feedback. Foster people development and growth, rotation, career growth, diversity and inclusion. Manage people recognition programs and tools to foster engagement.
Education and Experience Required
Bachelors degree in Engineering
10+ years of experience in GBU roles related to System Management, R&D, Supply Chain, Support, Quality
10+ years of management experience leading international team.

Quality Management System (QMS) driven by a GBU (Product Generation)
Product Life Cycle (PLC)

Location: Prefer local to Houston area, however, we may consider other locations within the continental US.
Travel: This role will require 25% travel.
Compensation: The base pay range for this role is $159,650 to $255,450 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and equity (applies to US candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
