Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Create and modify programming in various plant automation systems to improve control strategy, increase capacity, and other enhancements as needed.
- Develop and implement process controls solutions including advanced control concepts. Apply statistical process controls methods to improve performance and reduce costs of goods of the company’s manufacturing activities.
- Define and control the standardization of process control hardware, software and control strategies.
- Lead and coordinate the process controls function in design, construction, and startup of new or improved equipment and systems.
- Develop and update process controls documentation for new and existing equipment and systems.
- Stay abreast of new technologies associated with the industry, through trade magazines, training classes and technical manuals.
- Other Duties as Assigned
- Bachelors or Associate’s degree in Engineering or 10 year(s) of related experience, or equivalent combination of each.
- 5 years’ experience in engineering of industrial control systems in a team environment.
- Related experience working in 24/7 high volume production environment.
- Food/ beverage processing and packaging experience is preferred.
- Experience in Siemens Step 7 PLC Programming, TIA Portal, WinCC, Simatic ET 200S I/O
- Experience in programming HMI projects using FT View Studio ME, SE and Allen Bradley PLCs.
- Comprehensive knowledge of safety, instrumentation, distributed control and power systems.
- Thorough understanding of theory and design of AC and DC circuits, electronic components, and circuit analysis.
- Understanding of advanced control programming including custom instruction sets and data types, producer/consumer data models, and integrated motion control.
- Thorough understanding of communication protocols including DH , ControlNet, Profibus, DeviceNet, RIO, RS485, Ethernet/IP
- Minimal travel required to Hood or vendor facilities
- Proficient programming skills in LD, FBD logic using RSLogix software.
