What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Operator (weekends) position at Hoya Vision Care?
Shift: Friday–Monday, 6:00 AM–6:30 PM. Either Friday or Monday will be a 4-hour shift (to be determined), and the remaining three days will be 12-hour shifts.
Hourly Rate: $22.00 an hour with a 15% shift differential
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Complies with all company policies and procedures.
- Receives, cleans, and inspects lenses prior to the coating process
- Operates robotic clean line.
- Loads and unloads machines
- De-racks lenses
- Visually inspects lenses and coating after processing to ensure color and quality meet company standards
- Operates bead blaster
- Communicates problems to Production Manager
- Responsible for keeping workstations clean, organized and stocked with necessary supplies
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma
- 1 plus years working in a manufacturing environment preferred
- 1 plus years of Optical Experience preferred
- The ability to communication openly with others and work as a team.
- Must be able to work overtime or flexible shifts when needed.
- Must be able to follow all company policies and procedures.
- Must be able to understand and implement work instructions.
- Must be able to understand basic job work tickets.
- The ability to do simple/basic math
- Work without supervision
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
- Basic understanding of the Injury and Illness Prevention Program and the Hazard Communication Program.
- Closed toe shoe required with heel support
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment may require P.P.E.
- Safety glasses and long sleeve shirts may be required where needed.
