What are the responsibilities and job description for the Finish Technician - 3rd Shift M-F position at Hoya Vision Care?
Available Shift (Now Hiring):
• 3rd Shift: Monday evening – Saturday
Pay: $21 an hour with a (15% shift differential)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary Duties
- Prioritizing of work based on start dates while following all standard operating procedures
- Clean and inspect lenses to meet RX request.
- Insert correct lens into correct side of frame (right and left lens)
- Ensure that lenses are correct size and fit into frame
- Ensure that any special beveling needs are met for each individual Rx
- Properly align frame by bending with fingers and/or tools
- Verify the axis on all multi-focal lenses and make sure all lenses are cosmetically acceptable
- Align bifocals and progressives to make sure they are straight across
- Briefly inspect frames for defects or broken parts
- FRAME ALIGNMENT=All new frames should have a correct four point touch. Temples and front should be square. Spring hinge frames are satisfactory if slightly bent in. Front wrap should be minimal unless by design of frame. Pad arms should be bent at equal distance. There should be no bridge twist or co-plainer. Temples should close evenly.
- All screws must be tight. Check for sealed eye wear.
Secondary Duties
- Cross-train in other positions and help in other areas of department when needed
- Sorting and moving of work to mounting, tinting, buffing and polishing.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- The ability to communication openly with others and work as a team.
- Must be able to work overtime or flexible shifts when needed.
- Must be able to follow all company policies and procedures.
- Must be able to understand and implement work instructions.
- Must be able to understand basic job work tickets.
- The ability to do simple/basic math
- Work without supervision
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
- Closed toe shoe required with heel support
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The work environment may require personal protective equipment.
- Safety glasses and long sleeve shirts may be required where needed.
