Join our growing team! Howmet Aerospace is now seeking to fill a Toolmaker position on our 2nd shift in Winsted, CT facility.
Salary
As a Toolmaker your will build, inspect, and maintain fixtures and gages to close tolerances ( 1-.0002). Maintain product integrity and quality through gage inspections that require close tolerances of /- .0002.

The products we manufacture are used in important industries. Transporting goods and people; the defense of our country; critical energy infrastructure for hospitals and public safety. Livelihoods and lives depend upon the products we manufacture. Our vacuum melted superalloys, machining, performance coatings and hot isostatic pressing for high performance parts enable the next generation of quieter, cleaner and more fuel-efficient aerospace engines. Able to supply more than 90% of structural and rotating aerospace engine components.

Salary
- Shift differentials: 2nd shift/ $2.00
- External hires are eligible for a $3,000 sign on bonus.

As a Toolmaker your will build, inspect, and maintain fixtures and gages to close tolerances ( 1-.0002). Maintain product integrity and quality through gage inspections that require close tolerances of /- .0002.
Essential Functions
- Build and rework gages and fixtures.
- Design changes on tooling fixtures.
- Diagnose and correct fixture and gage problems.
- Oversee acceptable tool design for tool room rework ability.
- Perform machining and grinding of details.
- Perform surveillance on gages and maintain certification.
- Provide floor support.
- Partner with engineering and the layout dept.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Maintain certified toolmaker status.
- Actively participate, promote and comply with all EHS and Quality programs and policies.
- Follow policies and procedures as outlined in Employee Handbook.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- Two years technical college or trades school certification required.
- Knowledge and ability to problem solve complex issues.
- Familiarity with computer operations
- This position requires a minimum of 3 years tool making experience.
