Our Hampton, VA IGT facility depends on meticulous, multi-skilled maintenance professionals to keep advanced manufacturing assets safe, accurate, and efficient.

Why this role matters

Every perfectly cast component starts with reliable equipment. You’ll train on 1st shift (Mon–Fri, 7am–3pm), then transition to either 2nd shift (Mon–Fri, 3pm–11pm) or 3rd shift (Mon–Fri, 11pm–7am). New hires start at $41.70/hour, plus a $1.00/hour premium while on an off-shift.

What you’ll do

• Plan and execute PMs on motors, pneumatics, conveyors, and production machines using diagrams, manuals, and engineering specs.
• Troubleshoot with precision instruments; verify electrical characteristics; resolve issues on 480Vac power and 120Vac controls.
• Dismantle, assess, and rebuild equipment using hoists, cranes, hand/power tools; evaluate part condition and fit.
• Install, route, and terminate conduit and field wiring; interconnect machines and auxiliary systems.
• Service and replace transformers, motors, lighting fixtures, relays, switches, sensors, PCBs, and motor bearings.
• Plan electrical layouts in buildings; install apparatus and wiring per code and specification.
• Diagnose and restore hydraulic and pneumatic components; assemble and maintain pipe systems; repair gauges, valves, and regulators.
• Machine and fabricate repair parts to dimension with calipers, micrometers, and shop equipment; perform cutting/welding operations.
• Rig equipment for installs and relocations; safely operate an industrial forklift.
• Apply working knowledge of PLCs and robotic systems during troubleshooting and repair.
• Maintain inventories; order and verify parts; use resources wisely to control costs.
• Create clear maintenance reports; document actions and irregularities; coordinate across shifts; communicate effectively with leaders and operators.
• Uphold a safe, clean workspace; participate in training and continuous learning.

What you’ll bring

• A resume submitted with your application.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Recognized certification in a mechanical, electrical, or multi-craft apprenticeship.
• 5–7 years of industrial electro-mechanical maintenance experience.
• Experience in pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, water systems, PLCs, welding, and analytical troubleshooting.
• Mobile equipment training/certification; ability to operate an industrial forklift.
• Capability to work at heights up to 50 feet.
• Competence with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
• Ability to read/interpret safety rules, O&M instructions, procedure manuals, and basic blueprints; write routine reports; speak effectively to groups.
• Math proficiency in percentages, proportions, area, circumference, volume; basic algebra and geometry.
• Strength in solving practical problems where limited standardization exists; interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Flexibility to support all shifts, with overtime and weekends as operations demand.

Pay, shifts, and training

• Starting pay: $41.70/hour.
• Shift differential: $1.00/hour for off-shifts.
• Shifts: 2nd (M–F 3pm–11pm) or 3rd (M–F 11pm–7am).
• Training: 1st shift (M–F 7am–3pm).
