Howmet Structure Systems is currently seeking an experienced College Intern to join our team in Martinsville, Virginia for a 3-month summer term. Weare seeking individuals who have a demonstrated ability to achieve results in a manufacturing environment, as well as the passion to put that experience to work to lead activities and/or support plant location team to achieve manufacturing excellence. - Work with Plant Engineer to understand plant energy consumption
- Cost/Benefit analysis of potential capital projects
- Gain knowledge of titanium forge/grind processes
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum completion of Sophomore level coursework from an accredited institution.
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Seeking strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical and organization skills
- Ability to work in a self-directed or team environment.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing a plus.
- Relevant internship/work/research experience preferred.
