Essential Functions
Provides guidance to a group of coworkers performing complex tasks related to Tool Crib Attendant and/or Tool Readiness. Instructs employees in the performance of assigned duties. Supports creation and maintenance of product flows and actively participates in Continuous Improvement activities in a Lean manufacturing environment. Ability to perform all tasks listed below including but not limited to: coordination and movement of materials and tooling within the receiving forming factory operations, and other areas as required. Accepting, verifying, and recording of incoming materials, tooling, supplies from outside vendors. Stage, identify (tag), stock material, and cycle count including the accurate count and electronic receipt of all commodity and inventoried items, services performed, and internal receipt requests from procurement or buyers. In addition to the tasks listed: Transfer all inventoried tooling items from inspection locations to stock locations. Physically lift, place, and carry items weighing up to fifty (50) pounds for moderate distances.
Perform Group Leader duties as related to functional area of assignment, listed below, and be familiar with safety, environmental, and emergency procedures for equipment in that functional area.
- Accurately count and maintain inventory of incoming deliveries, red locks and cards for LTV, tub identification cards, secondary container labels, oils/lubricants needed for production and any other items/goods as needed
- Transfer all inventoried material to stock locations
- Receive items into clearly identified crib locations, and maintain accurate inventories
- Accurately record raw material deliveries to production floor if/as needed
- Investigate and correct any commodity goods, tooling, and spare parts inaccuracies.
- Maintain log of all Tool Discrepancy Reports and coordinate/prepare Misc. Shipper for return shipments of non-conforming tooling that needs repair at vendor
- Perform final electronic receipt of all goods and services.
- Assist with IT to help alleviate interface issues between Baan and Oracle
- Count, verify, receive Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) and perform returns in Oracle
- Accurately perform daily cycle counts to ensure Tool Buyer’s methodology is correct and does not lead to excess inventory
- Perform inventory adjustments daily based on daily log sheets (usage)
- Set safety stock level around actual usage. Analyze and reset monthly
- Maintain acceptable level of tooling inventory accuracies as required
- Coordinate and prepare PO’s for tool room/tool repair
- Coordinate and keep on schedule measuring device recertifications
- Maintain completed Mobile Equipment Pre-Shift Inspection sheets
- Read and interpret blueprints and sketches to determine specifications and desired dimensional tolerances of items to be inspected and/or produced
- Read gauges, micrometers, scales, calipers and related precision measuring equipment to determine item conformance to specifications
- Work with set-up operators and production planners to prepare and have ready production machine tooling set-up packages
- Prepare production and/or other reports or forms in both manual and electronic formats
- Provide training to less experienced personnel as needed/required
- Demonstrates a knowledge of and commitment to lean manufacturing principles and techniques.
- Maintains full compliance with Company policies and procedures and conducts all activities in accordance with the Howmet Guide to Business Conduct.
- Ensure that all work activities are performed in accordance with established safety and environmental standards.
- Operate forklift and other material handling equipment to load, unload, and transport material to designated locations in a safe and efficient manner
- Numerous miscellaneous general warehouse tasks, including 5S tasks/activities and department improvements
- Performs other duties as assigned
Education
High school graduate or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience and Background
Minimum of one year experience in warehouse and/or forklift operations.
Must be able to read, write and accurately perform routine math calculations.
Must be able to interact positively with other individuals to function effectively in a team-based environment.
Must be able to operate basic computer systems and programs.
