You walk into our Winsted, CT plant and meet your mentor. Together, you review a blueprint, plan the sequence of operations, set up a surface grinder, and verify your work with adjustable gauges. By the end of the shift, your hour-by-hour board is up to date, your 6S area is spotless, and youve logged tooling calibration and a daily walk-around. Thats the start of your journey as a CNC Production Trainee.
What success looks like
- You can set up machines and change wheels within standard times in your assigned workstation
- You operate CNC processes (e.g., rotary equipment, surface grinding) safely and reliably
- You perform in-process inspections and keep accurate quality, productivity/utilization, schedule, and calibration records
- You maintain visual control boards and hour-by-hour charts that tell the story of your shift
- You drive continuous improvement, follow the Employee Handbook, and live our Quality and EH&S commitments
- You achieve and maintain certified status, with dependable attendance
- You collaborate and jump in on other duties as needed
Growth, pay, and perks
- Starting pay of $21.00/hour minimum; higher based on demonstrated skills
- Shift premiums: $2.00/hour for 2nd shift; $3.00/hour for 3rd shift
- Training option: begin on 1st shift for several months if needed

Do you bring the essentials?
- High school diploma or GED
- Comfort with arithmetic (decimals/fractions), basic formulas, charts/tables, and interpreting reports/records
- Ability to read blueprints, drawings, specifications, and wiring/assembly diagrams
- Hands-on familiarity with computer scanning devices and adjustable measuring instruments
- Judgment to plan work, select the sequence of set-ups/operations/processes, and follow documented methods
- Preferred: 1 2 years of machine operation experience
