Position: Schedule B Vacancy
Varsity Boys Lacrosse Coach
Location: Howell High School
Hours: After school (2:30 p.m. - hours may vary depending on practice schedule or competition)
Duration:
March 9, 2025 - June 5, 2026
Responsibilities:
- Attend seasonal athletic department staff meetings;
- Ensure all student athletes’ physicals/clearance forms are submitted to athletic office before allowing an athlete to participate in tryouts, practice, or competition;
- Coordinate meeting with Athletic Director for all “new Howell Public Schools” students to make sure the “transfer form” from MHSAA has been completed and the athlete is eligible to compete;
- Submit results to athletic office and media outlets after each game;
- Notify Athletic Office regarding attendance issues – early release/absences for teacher notification and coding in PowerSchool;
- Contact Athletic Office for purchase order # before ordering or picking up any items;
- Complete pre-season MHSAA online coaches meeting and certify to the athletic office that all coaches in your program have done the same.
- Complete first aid and CPR requirements mandated by MHSAA and certify to the athletic office that all coaches in your program required to do so have done the same.
- Enter transportation requests into FMX in a timely manner
- Assist athletic director in building a competitive schedule for all levels
- Assist operations with proper daily maintenance of the field and stadium.
- Enter fundraiser(s) details in Google doc and permission sheet prior to start of fundraiser(s);
- Review Athletic facility report (emailed Mondays to all coaches) to verify accuracy;
- Review Athletic transportation report (emailed Mondays to all coaches) to verify accuracy;
- Complete officials’ ratings @ MHSAA before end of season check out meeting with Athletic Director (varsity);
- Check weekly email from the Athletic Director;
- Schedule facilities for in season and out of season workouts in a timely manner;
- Work with Strength coach to develop a strength and conditioning program for student athletes
- Responsible for the end of the year banquet;
- Meet with Athletic Director at the conclusion of season to evaluate/review/sign evaluation;
- Must submit the following to the Athletic Director:
- Tentative roster for GPA checks within first week of practice;
- Coaches Emergency Information sheet;
- Affidavit of fitness (for non-paid staff);
- Team schedule (both tryout and practice);
- Roster (signed by coach) along with the MHSAA Physical and Participation fee for each team member;
- End of Season Check Out electronically;
- MHSAA Master Eligibility information requested (# of year’s participation) along with cover sheet filled out and signed.
- OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.
Wages: Per the HEA Collective Bargaining Agreement
