Position Summary
We are seeking a Lead Pharmacy Technician who will serve as the supervising pharmacist’s “right hand,” actively involved in all day-to-day operations. This position requires a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented individual who takes ownership of the workflow, ensures compliance, and helps maintain a flawless pharmacy operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as primary support to the Supervising Pharmacist and assist with oversight of daily pharmacy operations
- Maintain smooth workflow across prescription processing, filling, data entry, inventory management, and customer service
- Ensure high accuracy in prescription preparation, labeling, counting, measuring, and packaging medications
- Handle prescription prior authorizations, insurance troubleshooting, third-party billing issues, manufacturer processing, and claim reprocessing
- Proactively identify workflow issues and implement solutions to avoid delays or errors
- Oversee inventory levels, place orders, track backorders, manage medication shortages, and reduce waste
- Support exceptional customer service by assisting patients with questions, coordinating refills, and resolving issues
- Communicate effectively with providers, insurance companies, manufacturers and vendors
- Keep the pharmacist informed of any operational concerns, patient issues, or workflow challenges
- Help maintain a professional, positive, team-oriented work environment
Qualifications
- Minimum 1–2 years retail pharmacy experience (independent pharmacy experience a plus)
- Strong understanding of PRIMERX, insurance billing, and workflow processes
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Dependable, self-motivated, and proactive in solving problems
- High level of professionalism and reliability

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
