Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of floors, windows, restrooms, offices, and common areas using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment.
- Handle chemical agents safely, following all safety protocols and handling instructions to prevent accidents or contamination.
- Operate floor buffers and other custodial equipment to maintain high-quality floor care, including buffing, stripping, and polishing surfaces.
- Conduct industrial cleaning tasks such as deep cleaning carpets, upholstery, and hard surfaces to uphold cleanliness standards.
- Assist with facilities maintenance tasks including light repairs, trash removal, and restocking supplies to ensure operational efficiency.
- Follow safe lifting practices when moving heavy objects or equipment to prevent injury during manual handling activities.
- Maintain detailed records of cleaning schedules, supplies used, and safety procedures followed to ensure compliance with company policies.
Qualifications
- Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or residential settings.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment operation (including floor buffers), and chemical handling procedures.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently while adhering to safe lifting practices.
- Familiarity with industrial cleaning methods and facilities maintenance tasks.
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness standards.
- Excellent manual handling skills combined with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Prior porter or facilities maintenance experience is a plus but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
