Job Title: Registered Dental Hygienist

(SATURDAYS ONLY)

Dental Hygienist Responsibilities & Duties

• Perform thorough oral hygiene assessments, including reviewing medical history and dental charting.
• Clean and remove plaque and calculus from teeth and along the gumline using dental instruments.
• Take dental x-rays and assist the dentist in diagnostic procedures.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized preventive care instructions.
• Administer fluoride treatments and apply dental sealants.
• Perform periodontal charting to assess and monitor gum health.
• Assist the dentist during dental procedures and ensure a sterile and safe environment.
• Perform oral cancer screenings and identify any abnormalities.
• Manage patient recall system and schedule appointments for follow-up care.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date dental records and documentation.
• Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
• Adhere to all infection control and sterilization procedures.
• Stay updated with advancements in dental hygiene techniques and technologies.

Dental Hygienist Qualifications & Skills

• Experience in a dental hygienist role
• Proficiency in using dental software and technology
• Advanced knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
• Certification in administering local anesthesia
• Excellent manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with periodontal treatment procedures
• Ability to work effectively in a team setting
• High level of attention to detail and organizational skills
• Experience with dental radiography
• Successful completion of an accredited Dental Hygiene program.
• Current state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist.
• Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist is preferred.
• Proficiency in using dental software and technology.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, oral anatomy, and periodontal disease.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively educate and interact with patients.
• Ability to work well within a team and collaborate with other dental professionals.
• Detail-oriented approach to provide thorough patient care and document accurately.
• Commitment to staying updated with continuing education and professional development.
• Exceptional hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $43.00 - $86.00 per hour
