About the Role

Howden US is building a modern, people-first business in a sector that’s undergoing rapid change. We’re looking for a visionary Director of Experiences and Events who can develop and lead a national events strategy that brings our brand to life, drives business objectives, and reflects the energy and ambition of our US build-out.

What You’ll Do

Build and own the Howden US experiences and events strategy, budget, and execution, focusing on client engagement and market-facing opportunities.

• Ensure our presence in key moments is distinctly Howden, introducing ideas and formats that differentiate our brand and business and strengthen relationships with current and future clients and partners.
• Collaborate closely with Brand, Communications, and Marketing to ensure we are optimizing how Howden shows up across audiences and channels.
• Partner cross-functionally, including with our c-suite leaders.
• Onboard and manage vendor relationships, including production partners, creative teams, venues, and other external specialists.
• Develop integrated marketing and communications plans for events, including invitations, digital promotion, and follow-up.
• Track KPIs and report on event value, engagement, and impact.
• Develop and manage the US events budget.

What You Bring

• 12 years of experience owning the vision for and implementing breakthrough experiences and events.
• You demonstrate leadership and judgment, showing up as a creative and strategic partner, influencer, and advisor to the business. You push boundaries and get results.
• A demonstrated ability to elevate participation at third-party conferences and events with fresh thinking and strong execution.
• High judgment, excellent communication skills, and ease partnering with senior leaders.
• You thrive in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment, are low ego, and collaborative by nature.

Technical Abilities

• You’re adept at building budgets, scalable processes, templates, and toolkits for consistent delivery.
• You are well-versed in, but not reliant upon, common AI tools.
• You have a deep understanding of how to build and leverage truly meaningful, integrated measurement and insights across channels and audiences.
• You have a background in insurance, financial services, or professional services.
• Strong project management and vendor management capabilities.

Compensation and Benefits

This role is classified as exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

In addition to a competitive base salary, employees may be eligible to receive a discretionary bonus, subject to performance and continued employment at the time of payout. All compensation is subject to applicable taxes and withholdings.
