Howden Re is the global reinsurance broker and risk, capital, & strategic advisor focused on relentless innovation & superior analytics for top client service. The Reinsurance Broker will be a part of multiple Broking Teams, each of which focuses on different clients. Each Broking Team is responsible for producing and/or servicing an insurance company and/or agent. Team responsibilities include reinsurance broking, program marketing, data analysis, risk management, capital solutions, contract negotiation, administration, portfolio management and general reinsurance decision making. The team operates in a fast paced, always changing, project-oriented environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Working with client organizations to meet their reinsurance needs
- Creating post placement materials
- Constructing reinsurance submission materials
- Tracking reinsurer quotes, authorizations, and communication
- Creating and maintaining client material
- Reviewing/editing documents and analysis of large datasets
- Quantifying the impact of various reinsurance structures on individual large losses and/or insurance company financials
- Researching market trends
- Responding to rating agency or regulator requests
Qualifications:
- 3-10 years of experience in a reinsurance brokerage environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk Management & Insurance, Accounting, Mathematics, or a business-related field
- Proactive, creative and analytical thinker that works well independently and within a team
- Excellent attention to detail and written/verbal communication skills
- Desire and interest to pursue an opportunity that is involving client related tasks
- Comfortable working with analytical concepts in the business and insurance environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Products, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Strong time management skills and project management skills
- Highly motivated and committed to continually developing your professional skillset
- Willing to travel up to 30% of the time
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
