Job Summary:
ENTRY LEVEL JOB
Howcroft Field Service is looking for a motivated, hardworking individual to join our team as a Labor Hand/Swamper, with additional responsibilities as a Shop Hand when not on rig moves. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands‑on work, values safety, and wants to grow within the company.
Swamper Responsibilities:
- Assist with rig moves while following all HFS safety policies and procedures. Duties include:
- Inspecting slings, bridles, hooks, and chains
- Properly hooking and unhooking trucks and forklifts
- Securing loads and using tag lines correctly
- Communicating clearly with drivers and operators
- Supporting rig operations with additional tasks as needed
Shop Responsibilities:
- Assist with the fabrication and assembly of products according to specifications
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop area and take out trashes
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving, stocking, and organizing materials
- Perform general shop duties, such as loading and unloading equipment
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
Skills:
- Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude
- Proficient in using hand tools and power tools
- Ability to fabricate and assemble materials accurately
- Experience operating a forklift is preferred but not required (training will be provided)
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
