What are the responsibilities and job description for the Forensics Advisor position at Howards Grove School District?
Howards Grove High School is looking to hire a Forensics Coach for the 2025-2026 school year. This position involves preparing interested high school students for Forensic participation and competition. The season runs January-April, with practices beginning in December.
Responsibilities & Qualifications:
Prior experience in competitive speech and debate, either as a participant or coach.
Strong communication, public speaking, and organizational skills.
Plan and conduct regular practices focusing on research, argumentation, delivery, and performance skills.
Provide individualized coaching to help students prepare pieces, cases, and speeches.
Knowledge of the rules and regulations of the Wisconsin High School Forensics Association and the Wisconsin Forensics Coaches’ Association
Knowledge of tournament procedures, rules, and judging standards across various forensic events (e.g., debate, interpretation, extemporaneous speaking).
Willingness to travel with students to weekend and evening competitions.
Ability to foster a positive, inclusive team culture that emphasizes academic growth, sportsmanship, and personal development.
