Guest Services SpecialistFull-Time | Shift: 11:30 AM – 8:00 PMRole SummaryAs a Guest Services Specialist at Howard University Hospital, you are the first impression of our organization. You will welcome patients, visitors, vendors, and staff; provide accurate information; and ensure individuals are directed safely and efficiently to their destinations. This role supports a welcoming, organized, and patient-centered hospital environment.What You’ll DoGreet all individuals entering the facility; determine the nature and purpose of the visit.Direct or escort patients, visitors, vendors, and staff to appropriate destinations.Provide accurate information about department locations, clinics, and services offered within the organization.Respond to inquiries; analyze information to provide answers or refer to the appropriate department for assistance.Support safety protocols (including PPE requirements, as applicable).Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment by following standards and procedures.Perform additional duties as assigned within the scope of the role.Required QualificationsEducationHigh School Diploma or GED requiredExperienceThree (3) years of secretarial, administrative assistant, or customer service experienceHealthcare setting experience preferredKnowledge & SkillsStrong customer service and interpersonal skillsAbility to interact effectively with individuals from diverse backgroundsWorking knowledge of hospital departments and service areasSound judgment and problem-solving abilityAbility to maintain confidentiality and professionalismAbout Howard University HospitalFor more than 150 years, Howard University Hospital has been a leader in academic medicine and community-focused healthcare in Washington, DC.
