Job Overview:
Howard Technology Solutions seeks a Digital Infrastructure Solution Architect with pre-sales expertise and deep technical knowledge across networking, cloud, security, and data center solutions. This customer-facing role requires a CCIE and strong experience in solution design, technical leadership, and business alignment. You’ll collaborate with technical teams, executives, and sales to define requirements, develop solutions, and ensure seamless service engagement. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and strong communicator, capable of aligning complex technologies with business outcomes.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Pre-Sales Engineering & Solution Design
- Collaborate with the sales team, customers, and technology partners to identify business challenges and design tailored digital infrastructure solutions.
- Architect and document high-level and detailed designs for networking, security, and cloud infrastructure solutions.
- Develop and present proposals, Statements of Work (SOWs), and Bill of Materials (BOMs) to clients.
- Lead technical discussions and whiteboarding sessions with customers to define requirements and solution roadmaps.
Client Consultation & Technical Leadership
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients by understanding their IT strategy, digital transformation initiatives, and technology roadmap.
- Perform network assessments and gap analysis to align solutions with business needs.
- Communicate complex networking and security concepts to executive stakeholders, IT leadership, and engineering teams.
Technology Expertise & Architecture
- Design and validate enterprise networking solutions, including:
- Core and edge routing & switching (Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, Extreme)
- Wireless networking and mobility solutions (Cisco Meraki, Aruba, Ruckus)
- Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and SD-WAN solutions
- Cloud networking integrations (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Security solutions (Firewalls, Zero Trust, Network Access Control)
- Stay ahead of emerging networking trends and technologies to provide innovative solutions to clients.
Sales Enablement & Business Development
- Partner with account managers and business development teams to drive sales strategies and expand market opportunities.
- Conduct technology demonstrations, workshops, and proof-of-concepts (POCs) to showcase solution capabilities.
- Develop and deliver technical sales training for internal teams and channel partners.
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
- Maintain detailed network architecture diagrams, solution blueprints, and best practices.
- Create and distribute technical whitepapers, case studies, and presentations.
- Contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives within the pre-sales engineering community.
Qualifications:
- 10 years of experience in consulting, solution architecture, or network engineering roles.
- Proven pre-sales engineering experience, with a strong ability to align technical solutions with business objectives.
- Deep expertise in Routing & Switching, Data Center, Security, Wireless, and Collaboration.
- Understanding of network automation, orchestration, cloud, and software-defined solutions (e.g., SD-WAN, SASE, AIOps)
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value propositions.
Preferred Certifications:
- Cisco: CCIE (Enterprise, Security, or Data Center), CCNP
- Aruba: ACSX, ACP, ACDP, ACEP, ACSP
- Juniper: JNCIP-ENT, JNCIE-ENT
- Cloud Networking: AWS/Azure Network Specialty Certification (Preferred)
