What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hydrocarbon Laboratory Technician - Beeville, TX position at Howard Field Services, LLC?
This position is titled Lab Technician. It will begin within two weeks of your acceptance of the offer. It is a full-time position with most work done between 8AM to 5PM on weekdays. On rare occasions a customer may require work to be done on a weekend or holiday. Most work will be done at our Beeville Laboratory Facility, with occasional travel to customer locations to pick up hydrocarbon samples. If training is required, training may take place in our Midland, TX, laboratory and transportation will be provided. The primary roles and responsibilities include:
· Collect and transport hydrocarbon samples
· Condition gas and liquid hydrocarbon samples and analyze by chromatography
· Troubleshoot problematic analyses
· Report analysis results to customers and company users
· Clean and deliver empty sample containers for customer use
· Adhere to company and customer safety and operating policies and procedures, as well as government regulations
· Communicate, document, and report job functions according to company and customer requirements
· Work productively and independently with minimal supervision
Position qualification requirements include:
· Maintain a valid driver’s license
· Speak and read English fluently
· Pass pre-employment and random post-employment drug testing
Mental and physical requirements include:
· Dexterous use of hands and fingers to feel, hold, or reach objects
· Walking, talking, standing, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, crouching, and crawling
· Smelling and hearing
· Ability to see near distances, far distances, peripherally, and color, and perceive depth
· Occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 100 pounds
· Some customers or facilities may require removal of all facial hair
Environmental requirements include:
· Working in outside weather conditions including hot, cold, wet, dry, and humid conditions
· Working with hazardous, flammable, toxic, and caustic chemicals
· Working in environments with a potential for electrical shock
· Working in loud environments
· Occasionally working alone in remote locations
