What are the responsibilities and job description for the Day Shift Charge Nurse position at Howard County Medical Center?
The Charge Nurse is responsible for overseeing daily nursing operations to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care and efficient department performance.
DUTIES
- Manage daily staffing/patient census and adjust as needed.
- Ensure Quality Initiatives are completed as designed.
- Serve as the point of contact for other departments.
- Oversee of entire nursing staff on duty.
- Ensure department policy and procedures are followed.
- Assist with tasks delegated by manager when appropriate.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Current Nebraska Registered Nurse Licensure is required.
- Two years of experience providing comprehensive emergency and critical care services in fast-paced, high acuity healthcare environments.
- Ability to serve as a preceptor and trainer for new nursing staff, providing mentoring, clinical guidance, and competency-based instruction to support professional development and maintain high standards of patient care
