Position Summary
The Clinic LPN/RN supports medical providers in delivering patient care, assisting with examinations, procedures, and treatment plans. This role involves direct patient interaction, coordination of care, and maintaining clinical standards under the supervision of the Medical Staff and Clinic Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Review patient charts to ensure completeness before examinations
- Escort and prepare patients for visits
- Obtain vital signs, medical histories, height, and weight
- Record and manage lab, imaging, and test data in the patient chart
- Coordinate referrals per provider request
- Assist patients in accessing Lab, Radiology, and other departments
- Support providers during exams and procedures
- Prepare medications and administer injections
- Communicate test results to patients as directed
- Process medication refills with pharmacies
- Assist with phlebotomy as needed
- Screen clinical calls and manage those not requiring provider input
- Apply dictation to patient charts
- Provide instructions for external tests
- Schedule tests and imaging appointments
- Fax records to outside facilities as requested
- Maintain patient flow and keep patients informed of delays
- Remain calm in urgent or stressful situations
- Maintain adequate supplies and medication inventory, including tracking expiration dates
- Keep rooms clean and stocked
- Maintain pediatric immunization records
- Take messages from nursing homes and off-site clinics
- Perform other assigned duties as needed
Qualifications
- Current Nebraska LPN or RN license required
- Duties and pay vary based on licensure and experience
- Minimum 36 hours per week, with a half or full day off each week depending on scheduling; Saturday clinic shift for 4 hours every 8-10 weeks
