Position Summary
The Assistant Manager is a key leadership role, responsible for assisting the Store Manager in the daily operations of the BP gas station and convenience store. This position is crucial in ensuring a positive customer experience, maximizing sales, and maintaining a well-organized and efficient work environment. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with strong leadership and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Store Operations: Assist the Store Manager in all aspects of day-to-day operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and motivate a team of employees. Delegate tasks, create and manage work schedules, and conduct performance reviews.
- Customer Service: Ensure all staff provide excellent customer service. Handle customer complaints and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner.
- Inventory and Merchandising: Monitor and maintain store inventory levels, place orders for merchandise, and ensure the store is stocked and merchandised according to company standards.
- Financial Management: Assist in monitoring and tracking operating costs, budgets, and resources to achieve profitability targets.
- Compliance: Ensure all employees adhere to company policies, guidelines, and health and safety regulations.
- Reporting: Generate and analyze reports on sales, expenses, and other key performance indicators.
- Cover for Manager: Act as the Store Manager in their absence, overseeing all store operations and making sure the business runs smoothly.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Proven experience in a retail or convenience store management role is highly preferred.
- Leadership: Strong leadership abilities with a knack for motivating and developing a team.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Problem-Solving: The ability to calmly and effectively resolve issues that arise with customers or staff.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office).
- Flexibility: Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Pay: From $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 18.0 – 35.0 per week
