Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Night Shift Truck Mechanic to join our team. This role is responsible for performing maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a fleet of trucks and heavy-duty vehicles to ensure safe and efficient operation. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently during overnight hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel trucks and trailers
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
- Repair or replace defective parts, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems
- Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize downtime
- Respond to breakdowns and perform emergency repairs as needed
- Maintain accurate service and repair records
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies
- Keep work area clean, organized, and safe
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a truck or diesel mechanic
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines and heavy-duty vehicle systems
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and repair equipment
- Welding and fabrication experience (preferred)
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions
- Standing, bending, and kneeling for extended periods
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
