What are the responsibilities and job description for the Receptionist - Temporary position at Hover Senior Living Community?
Job Summary Ensure that communication, clerical, and administrative support functions of the facility are completed in a timely, effective manner. Support the Community in various departments with identified needs as directed by the Assisted Living Director.
a) Model the Culture Change Principles of the Eden Alternative.
b) Understand and adhere to Resident Confidentiality and HIPPA regulations.
c) Attend in-service training, educational classes, and meetings as required.
d) Read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos.
e) Maintain a thorough working knowledge of Community Electronic Health Record software.
f) Maintain a thorough working knowledge of Community policies and procedures.
g) Solve basic mathematic procedures.
h) Maintain the highest degree of personal and professional integrity.
i) Know and honor Resident Rights.
j) Communicate with residents in a respectful manner.
k) Respond to resident family/visitor requests in a timely and appropriate manner.
l) Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
m) Provide effective and courteous service to all residents, guests and co-workers.
2. Resident Care
a) Regularly review, follow, and adhere to residents’ service plans.
b) Report changes in resident status, health or otherwise to supervisor.
c) Demonstrate knowledge of infection control and universal precautions.
3. Essential Duties/Responsibilities
a) Greeting all visitors to community in person and by phone.
b) Answer the telephone in a professional manner and check voicemails daily.
c) Manage phone system for Community.
d) Perform administrative assistant duties filing, sorting, copying, and scheduling appointments. e) Greet and provide assistance to residents.
f) Separate and deliver mail to residents.
g) Open and distribute Hover Community mail.
h) Provide assistance to leadership (this will include a variety of tasks).
i) Make copies for various packets.
j) Be able to perform a variety of tasks using Microsoft Word and Excel.
k) Maintain office equipment.
l) Maintain a current file/listing of elders by name and room number, emergency phone members of on-call personnel, department extensions, key personnel, etc.
m) Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as calm environment throughout the community.
n) Attend and participate in community mandatory in-service training programs as scheduled.
o) Maintain a clean and well-organized workstation and front lobby.
4. Physical Demands/Working Conditions
a) Able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, and move frequently during working hours.
b) Able to lift 40 lbs. floor to waist, lift 10 lbs. waist to shoulder, lift and carry 40 lbs., and push/pull 40 lbs.
c) Able to assist in the evacuation of residents.
a) Minimum of one year experience in a senior care or healthcare setting preferred.
b) Ability to read, speak, and write in English.
c) Ability and willingness to relate effectively with a variety of individuals.
d) Desire to work with seniors in a residential setting.
e) Demonstrated favorable work history through reference checks and background checks.
f) Ability to complete specific tasks from general instructions.
g) Ability to operate basic office equipment.
h) Ability to use the computer: Microsoft Word and Excel.
i) Ability to multi-task and prioritize
