JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking an enthusiastic, energetic, and responsible Racquet Sports Camp Assistant to support our summer camp programs. The ideal candidate will assist in the daily operations of racquet sports activities including tennis, pickleball, badminton, and other related games. This role is perfect for someone passionate about sports, enjoys working with children and teens, and thrives in a team-oriented, outdoor environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Assist lead instructors in organizing and running racquet sport activities
- Help set up and break down courts and equipment each day
- Provide hands-on instruction and encouragement to campers of various skill levels
- Ensure camper safety by monitoring activities and enforcing camp rules
- Demonstrate sportsmanship, enthusiasm, and professionalism at all times
- Support campers with hydration, sunscreen reminders, and positive encouragement
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of racquet sports areas
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required
- Step in for other camp-related duties as needed
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- High school education, GED, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum age: 18
- Experience in racquet sports (tennis, pickleball, badminton, etc.) preferred
- Previous experience working with children is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Positive attitude, team player, and dependable

LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
- TABC license.
- PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to meet the following minimum physical requirements for at least an eight-hour shift:
- Physical Stamina: Frequent standing, walking, climbing of ladders and stairs, kneeling, reaching overhead, lifting and carrying various objects weighing up to 30 lbs. On occasion push a 50 lb. dolly. Work indoors in a temperature-controlled environment most of the time and sometimes work outdoors in extreme temperatures.
- Hearing / Speech: Must be able to effectively engage in one-on-one communication with guests, members, and customers and use a 2-way radio to communicate clearly and accurately with co-workers.
- Vision: Must be able to accurately read instructions, reports, and log sheets. Must be able to work with computers and PDAs in varying light conditions.
- Literacy: Must be able to produce, read and understand reports, including security, incident and police reports. Must be able to analyze and process written information from a variety of sources and effectively communicate content of reports.
- Chemicals/Agents: Must be able to work safely with chemicals according to SDS sheets and all applicable laws, codes and regulatory requirements.
