The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing patients with chronic pain and spinal disorders, providing high-quality, patient-centered care in an outpatient clinical setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history, physical exams, and diagnostic testing, to determine the root causes of pain and spine issues.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients, utilizing a variety of therapeutic modalities such as medication management, physical therapy, interventional procedures, and minimally invasive surgeries.
- Perform diagnostic injections and other minimally invasive procedures as required to manage pain and improve patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with other medical professionals, including physical therapists, radiologists, and surgeons, to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
- Provide education and counseling to patients on pain management strategies, lifestyle modifications, and long-term care plans.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate medical records for all patients in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Participate in continuing education to stay current with the latest advancements in pain management and spinal care.
- Provide empathetic, compassionate care to patients, ensuring their comfort and understanding throughout the treatment process.
- Attend and participate in team meetings and clinical reviews to improve patient care outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications
Work Environment Why Houston Pain and Spine?
- Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.
- Licensing: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pain Management, Anesthesiology, or Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R).
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in pain management or spine care, with a proven track record of patient care excellence.
- Skills:
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
- Expertise in interventional pain procedures, including nerve blocks, spinal injections, and epidural injections.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
- Knowledge of electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Certifications:
- Current state medical license in Texas.
- BLS and ACLS certification (or ability to obtain).
- Fellowship training in Pain Management, Spine Surgery, or a related field.
- Experience with minimally invasive spine procedures.
- Fast-paced clinical setting with a focus on patient care and outcomes.
- Collaborative, team-based approach to patient management.
