Pain Management/Spine Specialist

Job Description

Houston Pain and Spine is a leading provider of comprehensive pain management and spinal care in Houston, TX. We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Specialist to join our multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing patients with chronic pain and spinal disorders, providing high-quality, patient-centered care in an outpatient clinical setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history, physical exams, and diagnostic testing, to determine the root causes of pain and spine issues.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients, utilizing a variety of therapeutic modalities such as medication management, physical therapy, interventional procedures, and minimally invasive surgeries.
• Perform diagnostic injections and other minimally invasive procedures as required to manage pain and improve patient outcomes.
• Collaborate with other medical professionals, including physical therapists, radiologists, and surgeons, to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
• Provide education and counseling to patients on pain management strategies, lifestyle modifications, and long-term care plans.
• Maintain up-to-date and accurate medical records for all patients in compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Participate in continuing education to stay current with the latest advancements in pain management and spinal care.
• Provide empathetic, compassionate care to patients, ensuring their comfort and understanding throughout the treatment process.
• Attend and participate in team meetings and clinical reviews to improve patient care outcomes.

Work Environment Why Houston Pain and Spine?

• Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.
• Licensing: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pain Management, Anesthesiology, or Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R).
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in pain management or spine care, with a proven track record of patient care excellence.
• Skills:
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
• Expertise in interventional pain procedures, including nerve blocks, spinal injections, and epidural injections.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
• Knowledge of electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
• Certifications:
• Current state medical license in Texas.
• BLS and ACLS certification (or ability to obtain).
• Fellowship training in Pain Management, Spine Surgery, or a related field.
• Experience with minimally invasive spine procedures.
• Fast-paced clinical setting with a focus on patient care and outcomes.
• Collaborative, team-based approach to patient management.
