Houston Methodist Hospital in the Texas Medical Center is seeking an experienced General Surgeon to join the Acute Care Surgery division. The applicant should have extensive experience in emergent/urgent and general surgery. Colorectal and/or robotic surgery experience preferred.
Education and surgery resident supervision are major components of the position. Our practice is dynamic, busy and with high patient acuity encompassing the entire depth and breadth of Acute Care Surgery. The division supports incorporation of robotic surgery for general surgery procedures. Additionally, research endeavors encouraged and supported, with the availability of clinician scientist awards, internal research grants, and departmental support. New faculty have opportunities for academic appointments at the Houston Methodist Institute of Academic Medicine, the Houston Methodist Research Institute, and Weill Cornell Medical College. Division leadership position possible based on candidate’s academic and practice experience.
Applicants should be certified (or eligible for certification) by the American Board of Surgery
