About The Role
We are seeking a compassionate, patient-centered Classical (Benign) Hematologist to diagnose, treat, and manage non-malignant hematologic disorders. This role is ideal for a physician who is passionate about providing high-quality, evidence-based care and contributing to research and education in a dynamic academic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage a wide range of benign hematologic conditions, including anemia, clotting disorders, sickle cell disease, hemophilia, and thrombophilia.
- Perform procedures such as bone marrow biopsies and blood transfusions when clinically indicated.
- Develop individualized treatment plans informed by the latest clinical guidelines.
- Collaborate across disciplines to deliver comprehensive, coordinated care.
- Educate patients and families about their condition, treatment options, and long-term management strategies.
- Participate in research initiatives and quality improvement projects.
- Contribute to teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency
- Fellowship training in Hematology or Hematology/Oncology with a focus in benign hematologic disorders
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Hematology
- Eligible for a Texas medical license
