Position Overview: |
The purpose of this position is to serve as a Veterinarian for Houston Humane Society.
You will:
- Work in a brand new, fully-equipped, 10,000 sq ft public clinic with highly skilled staff.
- Perform services such as high-volume spaying and neutering, general exams, diagnostics, dentistry, lab work, and vaccinations.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities: |
- Perform all duties of a DVM as sanctioned by Texas state law.
- Determine nature of disease or injury by examining pets.
- Perform surgical procedures and provide anesthesia services.
- Order and evaluate laboratory tests.
- Provide training for personnel and volunteers related to animal care, nutrition, breeding, sanitation, and techniques for handling animals with a broad range of temperaments.
- Prepare and maintain appropriate records.
- Plan and conduct continuing animal health education.
- Collaborate with other agency departments and staff to ensure continuity of care.
- All other duties that arise in the course of daily operations.
