Work Shift: I. Position Summary: Responsible for the delivery of individual nursing care to all age group of patients. Prioritizes each patient's nursing care needs through use of the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Provides care in accordance with Houston Healthcare's Plan for the Provision of Nursing Care, Standards of Care, and Standards of Performance. Provides direction to LPN's and non-professional nursing personnel in providing direct patient care. II. Qualifications: A. Education & Training: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. B. Experience: None. Residency or Fellowship programs may apply depending on department and experience. C. Required Certification/Registration/Licensure: Current US state RN license with authorization to practice in the state of GA. Current AHA/ARC BLS certification. Current AHA ACLS/ARC ALS certification or obtained within nine (9) months. Must obtain and maintain required ortho education/training as mandated in the Houston Healthcare Joint Destination Center of Excellence Policy. D. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Must be able to utilize diagnostic equipment as well as patient care equipment. Must be able to utilize personal protective equipment such as gloves, gown, mask, etc. Must be able to utilize standard office equipment. Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Midas, etc.). Proficiency in Intranet/Internet use. Excellent patient care skills. Excellent oral/written communication skills. Skilled in conflict resolution, critical thinking, task management and appropriate prioritization/delegation.
