The Houston-Galveston Area Council is one of the largest regional planning commissions in the country with a diverse service area of 13 counties and more than 7 million people. We are the pulse of our region addressing issues that cross city limits and county lines every single day.

What will I be doing?
ü Build and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, service providers, and key stakeholders that an effective eco system.
ü Serve as the primary liaison between internal teams, service providers and community partners
ü Facilitate collaboration and alignment across diverse stakeholder group
ü Develop and execute comprehensive community engagement strategies aligned with organizational goals
ü Establish engagement standards, frameworks, and best practices across regions or programs
ü Define project scope, timelines, deliverables, and success metrics
ü Track and evaluate engagement activities and project outcomes
ü Establish systems to monitor accountability and ensure adherence to engagement standards
ü Collect and analyze community feedback to inform improvements
ü Identify gaps, risks, and opportunities for enhancing engagement efforts
ü Implement process improvements and innovative engagement approaches
Key Qualifications
ü The ideal candidate will have Strong project management and organizational skills
ü Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation abilities
ü Experience working with diverse communities and cross-functional teams
ü Experience in public administration projects and a high degree of understanding of applicable federal, state, and local government agency procedures and processes.
Do you have…
ü Bachelor’s degree in an applicable academic discipline or related field of study
ü 5 years of experience working with local government, nonprofit programs, school or in job related duties
