COMPANY BACKGROUND
The Houston Dynamo Football Club (HDFC) is a multi-faceted organization dedicated to inspiring and supporting soccer participation and growth in Houston, TX and beyond. The Club’s brands include men's and women's professional teams - the Houston Dynamo (MLS) and Houston Dash (NWSL), a development academy, Houston Dynamo Dash Charities, as well as Shell Energy Stadium and Houston Sports Park.
The Club has a rich history, including MLS Cup titles (2006, 2007) and in-season tournament championships for both the Dynamo (2018 and 2023) and Dash (2020) and is focused on building toward the next championships, inspiring and uniting the city of Houston through the sport of soccer and community outreach, and creating the most inclusive sporting experience and diverse fan base in the city and state.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Houston Dynamo FC is seeking a skilled Photographer to capture compelling, brand-aligned imagery across a range of team events, including matches, community functions and business initiatives. The Photographer will also be responsible for planning, execution, editing, and archiving, while supporting traditional and social-first content creation. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and work cross-functionally.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Capture impactful, brand aligned, images across multiple properties including but not limited to home and away games, in-season and off-season practices, team content capture day, community functions, business initiatives, and internal/external events.
- Assist with applying proper metadata on photography from matches, events, and general business assets.
- Assist with ideating, planning, creating, setup, and execution of photography assignments.
- Follow internal digital asset management workflows to assist in the preservation of the photography archive.
- Open to creative exploration outside of traditional still photography such as social media first content, cellphone photography, and remote/time lapse cameras.
- Comfortable with pre-production and post-production logistics, including gear, lighting, shot lists, and edit reviews.
- Perform photo retouching to meet brand standards.
- Turn photo into engaging social graphics.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- A skilled and creative content creator with expertise in photography and editing images for social media
- Pulse of internet culture, memes, and trends
- Can make captivating content across a range of styles and social media platforms
- A creative problem-solver with a “get it done” mentality
- Experience in studio lighting and portraiture preferred
- Experience with PhotoMechanic, Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Photoshop
- Experience with Photoshelter
