What are the responsibilities and job description for the WAREHOUSEMAN position at HOUSTON DISTRIBUTING CO INC?
General Summary:
Reports directly to the Warehouse Supervisor-Shift 1. Primarily responsible for receiving and put away of product received on common carriers and HDC Trucks utilizing HDC’s warehouse inventory system.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Accurate verification of received product, to include the correct address, seal number, quantity of cases and dunnage, product pull dates, package types and pull dates.
- Correct stacking of Houston Distributing Company’s products in compliance with Houston Distributing Company’s standard operating procedures.
- Maintains all appropriate personal paperwork relating to the receiving and shipping of product. To include, tally sheets, receiving log, hot shots, transfers, promo tickets etc.
- At the end of each shift reports to the Warehouse Supervisor Shift 1 prior to departure.
- Ensures proper organization, cleanliness, and rotation of the package storage area, draught storage, staging, and racking.
- Ensures personal compliance with standard operating procedures relating to warehousing to include; Eostar Warehouse usage, receiving, shipping, safety, product rotation, breakage, vacation scheduling, uniform compliance as well as proper reporting of accidents, and absences.
- Properly maintains assigned forklift and forklift batteries as well as assigned handheld and scanner in compliance with standard operating procedures.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assists with loading of route trucks as needed.
2. Will assist with other projects as required.
