SUMMARY
Provide the expertise and knowledge that support the college curriculum and programs. Establish courses following accepted higher education standards, teach students using a variety of effective methodologies and provide engagement and support activities that encourage student learning. The role of the Instructional Faculty encompasses teaching and learning, academic advising, professional development and institutional and community service.
The incumbent will teach a maximum load of continuing education units each semester in area(s) of competency and participate as a part-time instructor in the activities of the department, division and college (See Faculty Workload Guidelines).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
h. Teach courses at a variety of times and locations in response to institutional and program/discipline needs including, but not limited to, dual credit sections at partner school districts;

We are currently seeking a Solar-Weatherization Instructor who will advance the institution’s proud tradition of excellence in academics, student life and community service.

Your mission: At HCC, we’re committed to preparing our students for great careers. We’ll rely on you to design and teach a curriculum that will equip our students with the ability to design and install cost efficient, environmentally friendly solar weatherization systems.
Your work: In addition to time spent teaching, you’ll be advising students on academic and career issues, and assisting them with registration, orientation and assessment as needed. Sensitivity toward students from diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds, as well as students with disabilities, will be important in this role. Finally, you’ll keep your eyes open for new ways to improve the quality of instruction by reviewing and using innovative methodologies, techniques and delivery methods.
