Pre-Press Tech

Responsibilities Include:

• Review and verify the accuracy of pages and plans for Hearst Newspaper Publications. Work directly with all staff to meet posted schedules. Also ensure that files are press ready which may include working directly with internal and external customers to clarify and resolve issues with fonts/links, bleeds, trim, overprint settings, transparency, converting colors; ability lay out and/or generate new PDFs .
  
  
  

The successful candidate must demonstrate strong attention to detail, be able to work independently, possess the ability to prioritize order of work and perform effectively under pressure to maintain press schedules. The production applications required include Adobe applications and a general knowledge of prepress functionality. Experience with CUE Print, NewsWay are preferred. Flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, are expected. Prior pre-press experience is preferred, but training will be provided for those who lack it.
