Compensation Range : $45,000 - $50,000 per year commensurate with experience
Overview: The Quality and Innovation Manager oversees the Online Bookstore. Leading the team in ensuring production and financial goals are met. The Quality and Innovation Manager works alongside the Director of Operations in implementing and executing product training as well as tracking and reporting on experiments created to improve sales.
Essential Job Functions:
- Create strategic work plans to ensure that sales and operational goals are met In-depth knowledge of the sales platforms and software used for recording and reporting on experiments set in place to consistently improve processes and sales
- Provide training and support to the team on systems, policies, procedures, and core processes
- Implement methods to inspect, test and evaluate merchandise and production Sets goals for the store team, manages execution, tracks progress, and measures results extensively using standard metrics
- Lead efforts in discovering alternative revenue channels including ebay and additional salvage vendors
- Work in cooperation with other departments, including but not limited to, Human Resources, In-kind Donations, Marketing, Thrift Experiments and Vocational Programs to ensure store and company needs/standards are met
- Populating collections by category or condition for sales platforms and vendors Attending and participating in occasional marketing and improvements meetings
- Leading weekly Supervisions with Online staff and coaching them on achieving their goals
- Participate in at least four direction actions per year aimed at ending the twin crises of homelessness and HIV/AIDS
- Know the Housing Works mission statement and be able to inform and discuss Embody the Housing Works values of Stronger Together, High Performance, Membership, and All In Other duties as assigned
- High School diploma or equivalency
- Computer literacy required
- Experience in databases and with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, etc) preferred
- Job coaching and/or personal/professional management experience and/or graduate of vocational program preferred
- Flexibility in hours/scheduling required; including weekends, evenings, and holidays

- Non-exempt employees are paid overtime at the rate of 1.5 times their hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a given workweek. It is required that prior to working overtime, all non-exempt employees must have written authorization from the Director of Processing, Moving and Salvage or VP of Thrift Retail
- Frequently required to stand, walk, kneel, and bend for long periods of time · Frequently required to lift a minimum of 40 pounds.
- Frequently communicates (exchanges information, converse with, express oneself) with subordinates, vendors, supervisors, and community at large
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills, articulations and instruction of policy and procedure. Coach staff in accordance with organizational policy and best practices.
- Occasionally exchange information in communication with individuals who are agitated, confrontational or difficult patrons from a variety of socio-economic, cultural and religious backgrounds
- Occasionally required to traverse public transportation to attend meetings and/or participate in presentations and training seminars
