Residential Aide/Intake Coordinator
The Residential Aide/Intake Coordinator greets all clients and provides security and safety for all clients and staff.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a secure and functional environment for residents, staff, visitors, and volunteers.
- Welcome new clients that arrive, conduct orientation, do the initial intake, and provide house rules.
- Handle incidents using standard operating procedures.
- Observe all residents and recognize signs of substance abuse and criminal activity.
- Maintained excellent telephone skills and transferred calls appropriately.
- Acquire an understanding of building features and potential problems.
- Maintained daily logbook, school attendance, and visitor and resident sign-in logs.
- Patrol transitional housing sites/apartments, keep standing posts, and conduct vertical patrols.
- Visit multiple units as required and report all incidents to the appropriate shift supervisor.
- Attend program and agency staff meetings, house meetings, and training sessions as needed.
- Work under pressure and during stressful situations.
- Use the computer to complete intakes and other reports on the CARES database.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Essential Functions
- Must be able to observe CCTV cameras and report unusual activities visually.
- Must be able to ascend/descend stairs in a building up to 8 flights.
- Must stand consecutively for two (2) hours on a post.
- Must be able to lift and use a fire extinguisher.
Qualifications
- Commitment to H.O.G.A.R.'s mission.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid Fire Guard Certification / F02, First Aide & C.P.R. required.
- Valid N.Y.S. 8-hour & 16-hour Security Guard Licenses are required.
- Must be able to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing).
- Must interact effectively with the facility staff and client population.
- Must be able to work well under pressure and during stressful situations.
- Must be familiar with CCTV systems.
- Must be willing and able to remain at post beyond regularly scheduled hours until appropriate relief arrives.
- Must work nights, weekends, and holidays as planned.
Required Time on the Project
- 9 FTE Residential Aide/Intake Coordinator (RA)
- Thirty-five hours weekly must be able to work Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
