CASE MANAGER SUPERVISOR (BRONX)

The Case Manager Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Supported Housing Program, ensuring that all services are delivered in accordance with NYS Office of Mental Health (OMH) guidelines, agency policies, and best practices.

The Supervisor provides direct supervision and support to Case Managers, ensures program compliance, oversees documentation and service planning, and promotes a recovery-oriented, person-centered approach that supports residents in achieving housing stability, wellness, and community integration.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Supervision & Staff Development

  • Provide regular supervision to Case Managers, ensuring high-quality service delivery, proper case documentation, and adherence to OMH standards.
  • Review and approve Individual Service Plans (ISPs), progress notes, and assessments for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Conduct case conferences, field supervision, and performance evaluations for direct reports.
  • Support the professional growth and development of staff through ongoing coaching, feedback, and training.
  • Ensure that staff follow all agency policies, confidentiality regulations (HIPAA), and OMH requirements.

Program Oversight & Compliance

  • Oversee the coordination and delivery of case management services to ensure that clients receive comprehensive, recovery-focused support.
  • Monitor staff caseloads and service plans to maintain manageable workloads and quality service provision.
  • Ensure timely and accurate data entry, case documentation, and reporting within the agency’s electronic record system.
  • Conduct regular file audits and quality assurance reviews to ensure compliance with OMH and agency documentation standards.
  • Assist in preparing for OMH audits, quality reviews, and program evaluations.

Client & Program Support

  • Provide consultation and support to staff in managing complex cases, crises, or emergencies.
  • Step in as needed to assist with client support, advocacy, or case management coverage during staff absences.
  • Facilitate regular team meetings to discuss service coordination, client progress, and program updates.
  • Promote a trauma-informed, strength-based, and culturally competent approach across all program operations.
  • Support the Program Director with data tracking, reporting, and outcome measurement as required by funders.

Collaboration & Community Relations

  • Maintain positive relationships with community providers, landlords, and other stakeholders to ensure continuity of care and housing retention.
  • Represent the program in external meetings, case conferences, and collaborative initiatives with OMH and partner agencies.
  • Work closely with the Program Director to develop and implement policies and procedures that strengthen program operations.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or related field preferred; Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of supervisory experience in a mental health or supportive housing setting may be considered.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with adults with serious mental illness (SMI) in an OMH or supportive housing program.
  • At least 1–2 years of supervisory experience in human services, mental health, or housing programs.
  • Strong knowledge of OMH guidelines, recovery-oriented practice, and psychiatric rehabilitation principles.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage staff performance, monitor caseloads, and ensure program compliance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic record systems.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Work Schedule:

  • Full-Time (35 hours per week)
  • Flexibility required for staff supervision, emergencies, or client needs.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to travel within the community and conduct on-site supervision and home visits as needed.
  • May require prolonged periods of sitting, walking, or standing.
  • Must be able to access client apartments, including multi-floor buildings.
